RP youth show defiance vs Con-Ass; Sea of red to storm Batasan
Various youth and student organizations under the Kabataan Party are set to storm the Batasang Pambansa tomorrow to show the youth’s defiance amid concerted efforts by administration lawmakers to railroad Charter change through Constituent Assembly.
Kabataan Party president Raymond Palatino said different youth groups all over the country have already declared December 5 as the National Day of Youth Defiance against Constituent Assembly.
“We will not allow the Arroyo administration and its lapdogs in Congress to compromise the youth and the nation’s future for selfish political ends. The railroading of Cha-Cha only shows the real intentions of those who are pushing for it. These critical times warrant our defiance and collective action against abusive and greedy power wielders.”
Palatino also called on all students and young Filipinos to wear red as a symbol of defiance and determination to defend democracy and the country’s future.
He said pro-Cha-Cha lawmakers should also expect a barrage of text messages and e-mails tomorrow.
“Tomorrow and in the following days, the real sovereign will of the people will be heard and seen.”
